"I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become." -Carl Jung

About me

My name is Nimantha Hordagoda, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My passion for therapy is shaped by my lived experience, clinical knowledge and a desire to help people achieve a state of being they never thought was possible. Many people who find their way to my practice report experiencing challenges in their relationships, with setting and honoring boundaries, feeling stuck, unfulfilled or disconnected from themselves. As your therapist we will work towards developing the skills needed to move forward with clarity, authenticity and courage.

Reclaim Within centers on cultivating insight with direction. To help you move forward in more intentional and adaptive ways that support lasting growth. Our work together will focus on exploring the origins of your patterns and deepening the understanding of yourself and your history. We will explore the parts of you that learned to adapt, hide, or recede in order to stay safe or cope. It is with a deep level of respect for your unique journey and the human experience I will walk beside you every step of the way.

My Approach

My practice integrates insight-oriented, somatic, and experiential therapy to support healing on multiple levels. Insight-oriented therapy helps uncover the underlying patterns, relationships and experiences that shape how we think and feel. Somatic therapy focuses on the nervous system and the ways emotions and stress are held in the body, helping clients build regulation and a greater sense of safety within themselves. Experiential therapy emphasizes the present moment emotional processing and felt experience, allowing deeper emotions to be explored rather that only talked about intellectually. This approach is especially supportive for the clients who already understand the "why" behind their struggles but continue to feel stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected, or caught in familiar yet harmful patterns. Together these therapies bridge the gap between intellectual insight and deeper emotional, relational and embodied healing.

I work from the understanding that who you are is inseparable from where you’ve been. Honoring how your history, culture, relationships, life circumstances, and inner patterns all shape one another and quietly shape your relationship with yourself and others. Together, we’ll work to unlearn what’s familiar but harmful, reconnect with your body’s wisdom, and how to choose growth even when it feels uncomfortable. Also, aim to rebuild a trusting relationship with yourself so you can feel more confident in the decisions you make. We’ll build the tools that help you stay centered when life feels uncertain and disappointing, empowering you to move through change in ways that feel aligned and sustainable.
